The Red Bud Musketeer Booster Association officially launched in October 2024, marking an exciting new chapter in the school’s efforts to support its students. At the October meeting, officers were elected, and the association was formally established as a nonprofit organization.
The idea for the Boosters began taking shape during a meeting on September 5, 2024, where a group of dedicated community members gathered to discuss ways to enhance fundraising and support for Red Bud High School’s clubs, sports teams, and organizations. Spearheaded by Jen Tepe, the group presented their vision to the school board, outlining a structured plan to make a lasting impact.
A Vision for the Future
In its first three years, the Boosters will focus on supporting all sports teams, student-athletes, the student council, and post-prom activities. After this period, the group plans to evaluate its ability to expand support to additional student organizations.
One of the group’s primary goals is to streamline fundraising efforts through an annual sponsorship drive. This initiative will replace individual team and organization drives, making it easier for local businesses to contribute without being overwhelmed by multiple requests. Sponsorships will be offered at various levels, with businesses receiving recognition in creative ways, such as magazine-style covers for volleyball, football, and basketball events.
Other planned fundraising activities include concessions at sporting events, spirit wear sales, a golf scramble, a 5K race, an adult prom, and jukebox bingo. Additionally, the Boosters aim to provide three $1,500 scholarships annually for Red Bud High School seniors and sponsor a “Teacher of the Month” program.
