It was a historic and emotional night at Red Bud High School as the community came together to honor longtime volleyball coach Sandy Griffin with a special gym dedication. Before the start of the varsity matchup against Gibault, the old gym was officially named the Sandy Griffin Gymnasium in recognition of her remarkable impact on RBHS athletics and the countless student-athletes she inspired throughout her career.

The dedication ceremony took place in front of a packed house, with fans, players, alumni, and community members filling the stands to celebrate Coach Griffin’s legacy. Surrounded by former players, fellow coaches, and supporters, she was presented with the honor to a standing ovation.

Earlier this year, the Red Bud Musketeer Booster Association named Coach Griffin as the organization’s first Hall of Fame inductee, making this gym dedication an even more meaningful tribute to her contributions.

Coach Griffin’s leadership and passion for the game have left an indelible mark on Red Bud High School. Beyond the wins and championships, she has been a mentor, role model, and champion of Musketeer pride for decades.

The evening’s celebration carried into the volleyball match against Gibault, but the true highlight of the night was the community’s heartfelt recognition of a coach whose influence extends far beyond the court.
